This is a bird we saw at the park in Newport News. I thought it was a cool bird, but it started to fly away as soon as I started to take the photo, so this became an action shot. I kinda like the picture. :)

 My little Friend.
Posted by Picasa
I have learned that my blog is making other blogs look bad. Well if your blog was any good a blog such as mine would not have that great of an effect on yours :).  My time has been spent doing things other than facebook, blogspot, or any other internet based activity. This is because I have been busy chasing after a very busy 1 year old (and my internet has not work).
My life has been fairly pleasant lately in all actuality. I start my days around 5:30 or 6:00 with a nice jog along the beach and through the battlefields of Yorktown. I then come back to my brothers house and start chasing after my nephew. That goes most of the day. Then I usually crash around 10:00 and start it all over again. Since I did not have internet I really had nothing to do in any sort of spare time I did have. Though I love my iphone and  I do like blogging I really felt that it would only consume to much time and really just end with me pissed off and never really posting anything. This meant that I did what people used to do in the good old days for fun in their free time... I read. What did I read you might ask...Well I read and am currently reading Exposure. It is actually really good and I am learning to use the camera I have had for what seems like a life time, but really is only like a couple months. I will probably be posting pictures as soon as I find the energy and desire to put the pictures on my computer.
I have also started a small version of Iron Chef in my brothers home. I believe we will be video taping the next challenge we participate in. We kick of this extraordinary event last Saturday with a pizza challenge. I originally thought we were each doing a three course dinner all of pizza, but then my pansy of a brother back down from this and only made one. I continued with the three pizzas I had planned to make. The first of which was an appetizer pizza. For this pizza I just used a plain yeast dough crust rolled thin. Then I made an artichoke and spinach dip with cheese that I placed on top of the crust and baked so the crust was crisp and the dip was warm. Then I made my main course pizza. For this I used the same crust rolled thin, then I put a light coat of my home made red sauce. I placed a garlic, spinach, and artichoke topping of sorts on it and finished it off with a good helping of feta, parmesan, and mozzarella. When the pizza came put of the oven I brushed the crust with some olive oil and sprinkled basil on top of the entire pizza. I then finished the pizza night off with a dessert pizza. This was a pie crust rolled flat, then I put a home made white chocolate mousse on then I put berries and drizzled chocolate on the entire pizza. I  won the challenge! Which is part of the reason I believe we are holding another challenge this weekend.
I was going to say that this is all since my last post, but I believe I have also become certified in scuba diving and motorcycle riding. That is about all I have to say at this time. I will be posting pictures in the near future I do believe.

Thoughts...

So, today was the best lazy day. I enjoy doing nothing, especially considering my week will be some what busy. Though, tomorrow is my last official day of sophomore year of college.  This is a fact that makes my life a little bit brighter.
The highlight of my day was the church service that I was blessed enough to be able to attend this morning. In this amazing church that I have recently started attending, we are discussing those questions that "christians" tend to shy away from. This for one makes me happy. I dislike talking about the same mundane material sunday after sunday. I find it highly pointless and it does no good for anyone who actually wishes to grow or actually learn in any way, shape, or form. Today was very good in a challenging, yet understandable way. The title of the sermon was "why would a loving god send people to hell?" This tends to be one of the biggest issues when "non-christians" are concerned. If we cannot answer this question then how can believe. When it all comes down to it, I think I truly believe what we talked about today is the truth. God is a loving god. In fact he loves us so much that he will NEVER force us to love him. He will always give us a choice. Is there a greater love than this? Also, where do we get the truth that God is all loving? The answer would be the normal Sunday school answer... The Bible. If you look at the bible as a whole then you will also see that God is a judgmental god. Would this not now fit? God gives us a choice. This choice, like all others, has a consequence(hell).  As C.S. Lewis said, "The doors of hell are locked from the inside."
Another topic that we hit on is if you are truly a "christian" than how much must you hate someone to not share your faith. You believe in heaven and hell and you are willing to let someone go to hell, because you are afraid of making it "awkward."  http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7JHS8adO3hM  This is a pretty good video blog from Penn. He claims to be an atheist, in my opinion(which is the right one, because your in my little world right now) he has it right. Seems ironic that an atheist has it right for a "christian."
All in all I strongly encourage everyone to know their beliefs. I respect those that have the courage to believe or claim a belief. I do not always agree, but I do respect them. Though, if you know nothing about what you believe, then how can you rely on it. You cannot defend something you know nothing about. You cannot debate something you are ignorant to. 1 Peter 3:15 There is reason for our hope, we should know it and be proud. We should not have to shy away because we no not what we believe. God gave us the proof of the world around us and the records that were kept for us that we may be knowledgeable in him and share his love with all.
I may have made no sense in all of this ramble and for that I am not sorry. I am at least willing to say what I believe.
I also believe the left over brownie is calling my name, therefore I will leave this thought with you... Jude 22-23, we were plucked out of the fire, yet we do not smell like smoke. Daniel 3, No smell of smoke was left on them.

Smokefree and thankful.

First Blog....

So I got extremely bored and decided to create a blog...I realized this was a bad idea though when I got to step 1 and had to phone a friend for advice. This blog may turn into a very interesting situation. I have a feeling it may become one of the things I start, then forget about, and never come back to.  I will try to not let that happen though. I know everyone is so interested in what I have to say. I bet you are sitting on the edge of your seat right now.
Anyhoo, I am now finishing up my sophomore year of college and it is an amazing thing. I cannot wait for the day I can say I am done for good. Though the thought of not being here anymore is intimidating. I sold my soul to the Army so I know where I will be or more so what I will be doing. This adds a little bit of certainty to my life, not something I thought would every be uttered about the Army.
This blog will no doubt turn into an aimless rant zone for all the stresses I claim to face as a college student.  Those rants should probably be ignored because the stress I claim is usually self inflicted. I tend to wait until the last minute to do work, because usually I find something better to do, like a concert or a movie or anything else that can be done in this bore of a town.
I have run out of meaningless ramble material for now, but rest assured I will no doubt find something else to ramble about in a short period. If you know me, then you know that I never run out of things to ramble about, but you will also know that I never really say anything.
Well reader, this is all for now.
